In April, the publication held its global ranking of the 50 safest banks worldwide. Financial institutions that have uploaded their score since October 2011 have been published in their last edition .
In Latin America, BancoEstado is in 46th place in the overall standings, followed by Santander Chile, Banco de Chile and BCI. This group exceeds financial institutions of countries such as Mexico and Brazil.
The ranking analyzes the world's 500 largest banks divided by Region (North America, Eastern Europe, Central and Eastern Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, Africa and Latin America). Subsidiaries are evaluated for their long-term loans through various companies as Moody, Standard & Poors Ratings and Fitch, who performed the analysis and ratings of banks' total assets.
Segismundo Schulin-Zeuthen, BancoEstado’s Chairman, highlighted the work developed by this state company, adding that this recognition: "reassures millions of Chileans who entrust their savings and investments to this institution."
